PF-L Assist

PF-L Assist is an Android app designed to simplify and enhance the process of polar alignment for equatorial mounts. By providing a real-time simulation of the field of view seen through the PF-L II polar alignment scope, this app enables precise alignment based on the date, time, and location of your observation. Compatible with both the northern and southern hemispheres, it offers automatic or manual operation to meet the needs of different users.

The app displays the orientation of scales and star positions in real time, allowing you to efficiently align the polar scope. Stars irrelevant to the alignment process are excluded from the simulated field of view to avoid confusion and make it easier to pinpoint the desired ones. Additionally, the app simplifies locating reference stars like Delta UMi and 51 Cep, which are essential for improving alignment precision but may be difficult to find due to their lower brightness compared to Polaris.
